When I close my eyes and think of this place I feel immense amount of peace….. Grass brushing my feet, listening to the waves of Beas river,a wet taste in my mouth with the smell of mud.

You might wonder what place it is? Well its Manali,’The Valley of Gods’. I went to this beautiful place in the month of June( a time in India when showers of rain mark their beginning) for trekking and I couldn’t be more proud of myself for making this decision. Earlier, I had travelled without my family but I had some or the other relative accompanying me but this time it was just me. The best part was that I had my best friend with me on this trip.

It was a nine day trip out of which four days were solely dedicated to travelling as we were going there by bus and train.
After we boarded our train we settled on our seats and made some new friends,we talked about playing a card game called UNO but as we didn’t have cards we just talked about it. Then it was time for dinner and we were served with not-so-yummy food of Rajdhani but still I would say it was an improvement on the part of IRCTC.

I was very unhappy that I got the middle birth(in case if u dont know its a bed in train) but the group of friends made it bearable. Later, at night all of us made our way to our respective births and managed to get some sleep.
As soon as we arrived Delhi we were taken to hotel to freshen up and fill our empty bellies with some delicious food. Than in evening we made ourselves comfortable and sat in bus. 14 hours to Manali….

As we started our journey for Manali it started raining heavily which continued for another two hours. I was excited to move the curtains again and again to peek out from window to see some lightning.
To be honest, I underestimated Manali’s roads, I thought since nothing happened to me during my Mt. Abu trip, nothing would happen this time too but things took turn after 4 a.m in the morning as we were driving on the most curvy roads. I must say they can win competition with Kim Kardashian on the basis of curves( I know guys! Sorry for the lame joke but couldn’t help myself) I started to feel sick in my stomach. Luckily,by God’s grace nothing happened and we reached our campsite on 5000ft. Reaching to campsite was itself a 15 minute trek, yet so beautiful. After reaching there we were allotted our tents.

Finally, after a long day of travelling and witnessing curvy roads I got to lie down and rest. After a small nap we had some wholesome lunch and we were instructed that soon we were supposed to leave for a short trek to a nearby village called Kalath.

When we came back from our visit all I could see was food and sleep… So, I made my way to the bed.
To be continued…..
